In 2021 Crosby Hanna & Associates completed a Pathway Master Plan for the Town of Langenburg in support of grant funding the town had won. The process involved consultation with Town representatives and an iterative approach to connecting community facilities and hubs through a multi-use trails network that could be used throughout the year.
The Master Plan proposed over 16 km of connecting trails within the town limits, with possible trail expansion opportunities beyond the town proper. Special features were also considered, including pathway entrance markers and gateway features to help identify the pathway and assist with way-finding. Schematic design was also completed for two viewpoints at locations selected to highlight interesting views, provide opportunities for interpretive elements, and give visitors a chance to rest and enjoy the local scenery. The final project deliverables included a Master Plan document that will help to guide detailed design and assist in the procurement of additional funding.
